my box turtle laid eggs no idea female wild caught i was wondering wut do unfertilized eggs look like and i need to no wuut to do theree has been 2 so far 1 looked good and the other looked all mashad in and everything any info would b great i no its wild caught but it was kinda a rescue so yeah its a amazing thing an i love it

  1. If you removed her from the wild, the eggs most likely will be fertile.  

    You can google sites to find the proper procedure for incubating and hatching the eggs.  I'll post a couple of links below for you, which you might find helpful.

    If you have rotated the egg(s)s - you have most likely killed the developing embryo (it will drown and die if the egg is turned).  Any new eggs she might lay should not be rotated, and carefully mark the top with a Sharpie.

    The "mashed in" eggs sounds as if it was stepped on, or infertile, but it would take a bit of time for the egg to shrivel, if its not fertile.  How long ago were these eggs laid?  Do you know?

    Any way, check out the site for incubating, and take care of the existing egg now.  Then google box turtles, and study up on their care and needs (especially care for hatchlings).  The eggs will take months to hatch, so you have plenty of time to learn about the care the babies will need, and how to take care of the mother.
