  1. keep it.

  2. let it go it probably has a family : (

  3. It depends on if you live near the box turtles wild habitat or if it was an escapee from someone's yard.  If you live near where the box turtle lives and it was a wild turtle then you should take it back to a good place and release it.  One thing though, if he was exposed to any other turtles while in your care, there could be a chance that he acquired a disease, so in that case, do not release him.  If you think he is an escapee then keep it or try to find his previous owner.  If you do keep it, then do some reading on proper care at  http://www.turtlepuddle.org/american/box...

  4. if you can care for it properly then you might be able to keep it, a box turtle will not like being in the direct sunlight all the time, he will prefer shade and hiding places, also will need a container of water large enough to soak in and the appropriate foods

go to the pet shop or library and get a book about turtles to give you all the info you'll need, you can't get a "quickie" course here

    good luck

  5. Keep it...they make nice pets.

  6. keep them evil people tell you to set them free so they get run over

  7. Please set it free.

First off- it is illegal to catch these in many places because they are getting rare.

Wild-caught turtles are often full of parasites. This is not a big deal most of the time, but the stress of being captured and put in a new habitat causes the parasites to bloom and weaken the animal.

If you raised a wild-caught (wc) and captive-bred (cb) turtle side by side, you see that the wc never gets as large, or lives as long in captivity.

If you really want a pet turtle, buy a captive-bred one and protect the wild population.

  8. Call your state Wildlife Commission or Department of Natural Resources and find out if it's LEGAL for you to keep a wild-caught box turtle. That answer should answer your question.

  9. please set it free.
