Boxer Georg favourite for Dan Linehan´s Bar Hunters Chase
Boxer Georg has won pretty decent odds for winning the Dan Linehan´s Bar Hunters Chase at Killarney in Ireland on Monday, May 14, 2012. The winner of the race will bag a cash prize of €5,175.
The going will be good in the 2 mile 6 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 20:20 GMT. Following runners have lined up for action at Killarney: Boxer Georg, No Notions, Good Egg, The Blarney Rose, The Mull, Sir Frederick, Kilty Storm, Family Oficial,
Agus A Vic, Wrong Turn, Code Of Silence, Fishers Star, Shantalla, The Ballacolla Man and Railway Storm.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Family Official and The Ballacolla Man are doubtful for the race. Both were in the initial list of entries, but might not be seen in action today. However, no final word from their respective trainers has come out yet.
Considering the overall statistics of the participants, the bookmakers have rated Boxer Georg as the favourite to win. His recent form is also good, thus the punters might place a lot of bets in his favour.
The 10-year-old gelding has participated in 14 chase races, winning just once. Although his strike rate is poor, he has managed to finish runner up on three occasions whereas claimed the third spot once as well. This goes onto show that he has the potential
to match the speed of his rivals.
In his most recent race, the W. P. Mullins’ trainee took the second spot in the race, despite starting as the joint favourite to win. He performed pretty decently though and the margin of defeat was not a big one in the end.
Boxer Georg will be ridden by Mr P. W. Mullins, who has managed to win just one race while chasing. His strike rate is on the lower side and will need to make a big improvement in order to attract more bets in the future.
On the other hand, No Notions might also manage to attract some bets in his favour, as he is a decent runner. He has entered four chase races until now, winning none of them. However, he did finish runner up once, which shows that he has the potential to
fight for victories.
