I do not wear underwear under my swim suit, it is not needed and it is actually kinda gross if you aks me. Nothin like wet underwear to make you feel really uncomfortable. Then again they would not fit under my speedo anyhow.

If you do not have the mesh lining, find yourself a Speedo brief to wear under the boardies.

The cotton fibers in your underwear will clog up the pool filters, many pools will kick you out for having cotton in the pool.

No, no, no!  If you feel you must wear something underneath, wear a brief style suit/speedo.  This will help give you the privacy and support you are looking for.  If you are wearing a school bathing suit, I would think that you are already wearing a lycra suit and having anything under that would be uncomfortable and bulky.

Yes a lot of people do and it is fine. This is normally to prevent the swimsuit from falling to their ankles but sometimes its just a fashion statement. Its perfectly acceptable, and I like that look a lot actually.
