Boxing, how you interpret the results?

Ok, I know nothing about boxing! but Im looking the results for my country in the olympics... and it says

My country - the oponent, results -PTS 11:2

What does -PTS 11:2 mean? :-S thank youuuu!!

  1. in amateur boxing points are awarded so most likely its points 11 to 2 the first boxer had 11 and the 2nd had 2  


  2. it means that the fighter from your country won 11 to 2.

    Olympic fights have 4 rounds.  Each round is 2 minutes with a 1 minute break.

    Not all punches that land are scored by the judges.  The judges decide to award points for punches landed cleanly.

    The score is usually posted on the TV you are watching, and both corners have monitors that show the score, among other things.

    But to answer your question, it is the score of the fight.  The country listed first is the winning country.  And at 11:2 your fighter whipped whoever he fought.
