Question:

Boxing Gloves VS Fist?

Have you ever noticed that a boxing glove hit to the chin rocks you (Dazed) unlike the fist? Is this true? To me, the more padding on the glove the more 'force' it generates, it just feels like your brain moved.

My knuckles are VERY long, there rock solid and it just dosen't feel like the boxing glove hit, it hurts, but you don't get that "oomph" in your head? Why is this? Can you knock someone out with your fists?

I'm just very curious!

Thanks for the answers!

  1. Well, the thing is, you'll always risk breaking your hands when you fight with your bare fists.

  2. yea u can pretty much knock someone out either way

  3. u can whoop somebody either way

  4. Yes, of course you CAN knock someone out with your fists, but you have to be "dead-on" accurate for the point of the chin or the temple.

Wearing the glove spreads your fist's energy into a slightly larger area, covering more ground on your opponent's face.  That's why it feels like your brain is moving.  It actually IS moving a bit.  Blunt force trauma to the brain.  It's real, and it happens in boxing all the time.

You're right that a gloved punch seems to hurt more and cause more damage than a "naked" punch.  Having felt both in my day, I can attest to it.

  5. you can knock someone out either way.
