  1. I have seen a few badly scored matches.

That said, the chinese fight, is one prime example of the difference between pro and amatuer fighting. I think any amatuer fighting judge would have scored that fight pretty much the way it was scored. IF that was a pro fight, there is no way the chinese guy would have won... just the way it is

  2. You're actually watching these lame games?

  3. It's their country Olympics,we don't want to make them angry they might just keep all the athlete's there locked up in the Beijing Hilton Hotels basement.

  4. The scoring is c**p and it needs to be done away with ASAP.  Its not real boxing; its trying to land a straight right (or straight left if you're a southpaw) because jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and body shots are practically ignored in the scoring.  And even when the fighters land a good shot, half the time they don't get credit for it because 3 judges didn't hit a button fast enough.  The judges aren't doing what they are meant to do- judge the fight...  It sounds simple, but trying to count punches is not an effective way to judge a fight because so many fighters are not getting credit for the punches that they land (and land CLEANLY).  You don't get credit for knockdowns, and pitty pat punches are worth the same as hard shots.  Plus, there's the fact that it is virtually impossible to count punches for both fighters at the same time; in every pro fight that has compubox there is a person assigned to count punches for each fighter separately, not just one person trying to count the punches landed for both guys.  You look at the scores of some of these matches and its something rediculous like 4-1; are you to tell me that in 4 two minute rounds, only 5 clean punches were landed in total by both fighters?  Its bullshit.  The system was fine before they changed it, they just need to make sure that there aren't currupt people behind the system (Roy Jones, Jr. getting robbed at the 1988 Olympics).
