i've been getting into alot of MMA/Boxing and i know you have to stay on the tips of your feet most of the time during a fight so i was wondering if there's anything i can do to help get used to that? some techniques or something?

  1. Notice that Danny boy up top told you to pick MMA " It's easier". He shows his work ethic.

If you want to stay on your feet, I suggest doing and highly recommend is balanacing drills. They help you give angles to your opponent, get out of trouble on the ropes, and they help by giving you better technique and stronger punching power.

  2. you getting into combat sports? well get into mma.... its easier

  3. I'd like to see a MMA pratitioner fight in "Boxing" under boxing's rules for a change.  I have to be honest I think the MMA practitioner would get "blue smoked"  All it would take is a "rope-a-dope" and the MMA dude would be toast after the first couple of rounds.  Of course if you don't know what the rope-a-dope "boxing" strategy is then you won't under stand what I'm saying.

MMA practitioners spend too much time foresaking atemiwaza ( striking technique ) to study other aspects of MMA where most believe 80% or better happens on the ground and I guess that's true if you have no striking game at all or even better yet no real "boxing" skills.  Real boxers are very dangerous people how quickly the T.V. watching public forgets this fact.

It would be interesting to say the least to see a MMA star fighter in  a match with a boxer under boxing's rules.  I think all these MMA fans would be very dissapointed in their star for sure.

It all boils down to "knowledge" and the study of actual fighting in a scientific sense.

MMA has no under standing of what fade and sway is let alone the true meaning of bob and weave or duck and break.  h**l MMA thinks peek-a-boo is a game that little kids play for God's sake and  if you said "Crab" a MMA practitioner would say, "No thanks I'm not hungry".

hehehe... a MMA star in a boxing ring with a boxer under boxing's rules..... I'd pay big bucks to see that....and no dive from the boxer either damnit!!!

MMA dudes spend a full moth with a boxing coach and think they know something....that's the funniest part and how quickly people forget about the little details of boxing that no MMA practitioner would even have a clue about.  I'd love to see a MMA star in the ring with a boxer under "Boxing's Rules"....that would be one h**l of a PPV money maker for the right promoter right there now.

Just like this question here the asker says, "I know you have to stay on the tips of your feet" that must be one really crappy boxing coach because the lead ( jab foot ) is where again? "planted"...duuuuhh!!!  how else you going to push off with that back foot to make that jab solid and effective as you step into it?  People kill me man and the asker's coach is a total fake!!!  Fighting on your tippy toes like you're in ballet ROTFL...........

  4. Try doing calf raises. You can either do body weight calf raises or weighted calf raises with dumbbells or something else. Basically, stand up and lift yourself up on the balls of your feet.

I tend to do body weight ones in the shower and weighted ones during my strength training sessions (twice a week). This simple exercise really goes a long way in making you able to stay on your toes for a long time.

    Good luck.
