Ok, well to start off with, I'm a boxing instructor who is 5'11" nearly 6' and 203 lbs. Typically I fight shorter opponents, so I have an easy time sticking with the Jab, Cross, Left Head Hook, and Right Uppercut punches, typical of an Outside fighter type boxer. However, on some occassions, I spar with taller opponents, which means the usual punches that I use don't have the same level of effectiveness.
I know that when fighting a taller opponent, you need to get underneath the straight punches by slipping inside and throwing hooks to the body to slow your opponent down and to land shots to the head. So, do you guys have any good combinations to get inside a taller opponent to throw body hooks.
The combinations I came up with is this:
Jab (move in), Cross, Left Body Hook, Left Head Hook
Jab, Right Body Hook, Left Body Hook, Right Head Hook
But I could use some other ideas, thanks!
