Boxing Tips!!?

I plan to join Amateur Boxing soon and maybe if I'm good enough then I'll try to go professional but there might be a problem. I'm like 20% deaf because i had a rock stuck in my ear and its clogged up a bit. People told me it might be a problem because the coach might be screaming things to me while I'm boxing but I might not hear what he's saying. Do you think this is a big problem?

  1. he'll talk to you in the corner and if your not complying with his wishes he'll tear you a new azz next break in your GOOD ear..

  2. no it shouldn't be a big problem although it is a slight disadvantage that you will simply learn how to work around. if you can't hear your trainer he should yell louder or move to a different angle and then then yell louder.

  3. i have a hearing problem too and i am an 11 year old amateur but just concentrate and go to the docter cause it might be serious mines is not

  4. Not at all. Only %20 is really nothing. And being a former Boxer myself, I can tell you first hand, It does not matter if you are totally deaf, during the fight, you are not listening to what your corner is shouting anyways, your to busy concentrating on your opponent. There have been boxers who have been  %100 deaf since birth even. They used sign language to communicate between rounds with them. I am not sure if any have won a Title, But they have Boxed, That I am sure of. You may hear your corner shouting to you during the fight, But that's just what it is, shouting. You do listen between rounds, But during the bout, You don't hear allot. That's from my experience anyways. Hope this helped, Keep a stiff-jab in their face, and Good-Luck to you. Take Care.

  5. I have to agree with Rocky K. Thumbs up! He's right.... a lot of times you are not paying attention to what your corner is actually saying, especially if you are in the middle of a high pace action fight.

  6. no he can move round and shout down the other ear lol, anyway most of the time u wont be listening to the coach ull be concentrating on your opposition.
