Both Mosley and Mora have competed in number of matches as Staples Center but this time the duo will compete against each other. Both the fighters would be hoping to keep their opponent down in the fight and win the battle. Mosley at Staples Center won his first welterweight title of the year 2000; there he defeated Oscar De La Hoya. His second welterweight victory at Staples Center however, was a surprising one as he defeated Antonio Margarito in 2009 after nine long years. Mosley defeated Margarito in the ninth round in front of enormous crowd of 20,802 people. Whereas Mora also has, some remarkable memories related to the arena. He won a $1 million jackpot in 2005 after he beat Peter Manfredo in Staples Center. He again defeated Manfredo at Staples Center in a rematch later in October. Mora always wished to fight Mosley and will get his opportunity at last in September. Mosley is likely to miss his fight against Andre Berto on September 25, as he would be facing Mora in September.
Mora said that if his fight against Mosley is confirmed then he would step back from his fight on July 23rd against J.C. Candelo. The 29 years old said that he will not take a risk to go in a fight and receive pounding or bruises. He said that he wants to be 100% fit for his match against Mosley, as it is the biggest match of his career. The Mexican boxer said that the fight between him and Shane Mosley will be highly anticipated by Los Angeles audience and it would attract great number of people to Staples Center to watch the fight. Mora in his fight against Shane Mosley is willing to let everything on line, as he knows that Shane will be fast and attacking in the ring and in order to stop him or overcome him he needs to be strong and quick in his movements. Mora has also won a junior middleweight belt in 2008 from late Vernon Forrest, which he later on lost from Vernon. Mora for more than an year was not able to win further fights, but jumped back in the ring after winning April 2010 fight against Calvin Green in Las Vegas. With the win, the Mexican is confident in his fight against Mosley later this year.
Shane Mosley who will turn 39 on September 7 will face a tough competition against the 29 years old Mexican. He was earlier dominated in the fight by Mayweather for welterweight title belt. The 38 years old is not in his rookies form at the moment and would be a bit slow inside the ring. Mora on the other hand said that to him, Mosley is a tough competitor to face in the ring. The Mexican said that many fighters while fighting Mosley have counted him out and think that the veteran would be at ease in the ring. All of these fighters proved wrong while fighting him; therefore, he will not underestimate the American and will do his best in the ring.
Both the fighters are anxious for the fight and are waiting for the final decision. The fight would be a biggest event at Staples Center as Mosley and Mora are both highly anticipated by the crowd and this bout will attract lot of attention. It is yet to see which fighter will hold victory over another, as they will compete face to face with each other on September18.
