Boxing Update: Vitali Klitschko will face Shannon Briggs to defend his belt
Currently the boxing champ and heavyweight world champion Vitali Klitschko has made a statement about his upcoming challenge with the earlier heavyweight boxing champ Shannon Briggs.
Boxing is a game which is loved by many in the world because it is a game of power, agony and sheer stamina with strength. Now the world is eager to see the two greats of boxing taking over each other. The world champ boxer Klitschko is now once again ready to secure his title and will now settle the brawl with the former champ on October 16th of 2010 in the city of Hamburg. The Ukrainian champ boxer fought last time against the veteran rival Albert Sosnowski in May this year and claimed that this would be his final professional fight but it seems like Klitschko is ready to get back to the ring with new ambitions.

While talking about his upcoming match against the American boxing veteran Shannon Briggs, the world heavyweight champ told the media that, he is very happy to see that he will fight against one of the world’s best boxers in his favourite boxing ring.
Later Klitschko uttered his excitement about the match and said that the boxing arena in Hamburg is a great place to fight and the fans will definitely love to see him fight for the title and for them. Later while talking about his opponent for the match, Klitschko told the media that Shannon Briggs is a real hard opponent, as he knows the tricks of the trade really well. He admired the game of Briggs, said that he is one of the best in the world and can create marvels in no time.
Shannon Briggs who is also known as “The Cannon” is considered as one of the toughest punchers of the boxing world. His previous record is a solid proof of his merciless jaw breaking approach. Briggs has won forty six battles out of fifty one he fought and is still showing no sign of bowing out or settling down. While talking about his plans for the future, Briggs expressed his views and determination by saying that he has been waiting for this moment, as he cannot wait to face Klitschko anymore. He added that the championship belt belongs to him now, as he will try his level best to knock Klitschko out. Shannon Briggs has also thrashed the former world champs George Foreman and Sergej Liakhovich, which is solid proof of his capacity and remarkable career. The fight between the current two greats of the heavyweight boxing arena will be an eye candy for the world, as both the warriors of the boxing ring are capable of knocking out the opponent in no time.
In other upcoming major events of boxing Vitali Klitschko’s brother Wladimir, who is currently the IBF, WBO and IBO conqueror will be fighting against the Nigerian veteran boxer Samuel Peter. The bout will take place in Frankfurt, Germany on the eleventh of September.
