  1. Ah, blocking is so much fun!

I don't know if you have a trainer. If you do, when he does the focus mitts with you, he should be throwing 'punches' (more like slaps unless you have the glove focus mitts) at you to block and slip.

If you are trying to just work on some blocking drills for self defense, and you aren't actually a boxer, doing some blocking practice will be a lot more of a rare commodity.

What I do when I work on defense if i have nothing else preferred, I will have someone whip a shirt or towel at me to slip and block.

Try that out if anything. Good luck!

  2. Roll under punches - roll under, remember to take your head off the line first

    Slip punches - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwGqXPG8R...

Catch punches - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPhfD5oUY... (the first guy does it good)

Take punches on the gloves/elbows - head hooks - touch temples and lean into the hook - body hooks - touching temples again, elbows in tight, lean in and take it on the elbow.

  3. Go to any site that has videos(youtube, metacafe, myspace etc.).

Remember blocking does not reduce all the damage, only part of it,which is why i recommend dodging.

  4. if you have a heavybag then you should tell someone to try to hit you with it and you have to try and move out of the way still keeping your stance or to just try and box some1 and tell them to go all out and keep practicing blocking them or you can also just work on your reflexes and shifting your arms around

    good luck

  5. Youtube-

Search for "Boxing Defense", "Boxing Defense Techniques".. etc.
