Question:

Boxing combinations- does anyone else have any other combinations they want to tell me about?

Here are the combinations I try to use when sparring:

1-2 (Jab, Cross)

1-1-2 (Jab, Jab, Cross)

1-2-3-2 (Move-in Jab, Cross, Left Head Hook, Cross)

1-3-2 (Basically throwing short Jabs to lure an opponent in and then a sharp Left Head Hook, Cross)

5-3-2 (Right Uppercut, Left Head Hook, Cross- used for body punchers or guys that try to sneak down low for the Jab, Cross)

Do you guys have any other boxing combinations that are useful or effective? I know boxing is about improvising, but I'm just looking for ideas. Thanks!

  1. My favorite is left hook to the body then left hook to the head.

The right uppercut left hook is one of the most devastating.

Left uppercut right cross is also a good one.

You should focus your combinations around your best punch.  Mine is the left hook.  I personally think that it is the best punch in boxing and I think it is underutilized, but if you're better at another punch focus your combos around that one and keep working on that hook, it'll pay off if you give it time.

  2. Bombs away baby

  3. try leading with a 2, go 2-1 or even 2-2 if they are near the ropes, nobody is used to seeing a lead cross.
