I kind of want to start boxing. I have been interested, but never really got to start. I am wondering on what it takes to be one. What are the diet plans? How fun is it? Where do I go to look for lessons? Are there requirments to meet? I am a 19 yr old female that is looking to have some fun, so I decided to try boxing, so if you can help me, that would be awesome! Thank you!!

  1. Lol at that idiot Dannyboy, I swear professional female Boxers would knock him out.

But yeah look around your local area for Gyms that offer lessons to the public.  Unless you take it serious to the point you want to Box properly i doubt there will be a diet plan if its just for fun unless you want one to loose weight/gain muscle or whatever.  There's no requirements anyone can Box and yes i find it very fun.

  2. look in boxinggyms.com

they list boxing gyms in every state

  3. Well, I'm in martial arts, and my teacher does boxing as well, so I think I might be able to help.

Try your local gyms - there should be someone there to train you. As the guy above said, go to Google Maps, type in your area and then click on "Search nearby" and type boxing in the new box. That simple!

As for diet plans... You don't always get one. My teacher just says to make sure you eat enough to have energy, drink as much water as possible, and if your only energy source was junk food, excercise twice as much to make up for it. Lol - unspecific, I know, but I never said he was perfect.

Start thinking about buying your own boxing gloves - when you use anyone elses, they'll almost always stink! Also, get some elastic bandages, which will help protect your wrists and ensure the gloves fit right.

  4. sure, google 'boxing (your city)' and go from there.

Find a gym, pay the dues, and get to work.

    Have a lot of fun!
