  1. Boxing, easily.

Boxers have the highest raton of training time to actual competition time.

it is said the average boxer trains 450 plus hours for a 12 round fight.

that is 450 or more hours to prepare for a 45 minute battle!

also, boxers have much greater endurance and better cardiovascular health, after all, the average mma fight lasts 15 minutes or less if it goes to the cards, a boxer who fights 12 rounds fight for 45 minutes if it goes to the cards.

even upstart boxers fight for a minimum of 5 rounds(each about 3 minutes, with a rare exception of a 3 rnd fight).

I have played football and have trained as a boxer and i can tell you, training for boxing makes football practice seem like a walk in the park!

keep in mind that boxing and football are ranked as 1st and 3rd toughest sport by espn.

another glaring example of how much harder boxing is than mma is the fact that in mma, there are many fighters who are considered the top contenders who are over 38, 40 yrs old.

where as in boxing, a fighter usually retires by 35, and if they dont, they are of exceptional talent and shape(Calzaghe- 36, Hopkins-43, de la hoya-35) and are looking for their last big match.

after a certain age, een legendary veterans cant handle more youthful boxers, no matter how hard they train, because after all their years of training and hard fought wars, their bodies become spent.

This is why it is common for many retired boxer to cross over to mma, usually with mixed success(ButterBean, Mercer, etc.)

But in the end, they are both incredibly hard sports and all you acn do is give props to all those who dedicate themselves to it.

  2. I love boxing its my favorite but MMA is much harder because, with boxing all you got to worry about is punches coming from your opponent and is easy learned , as for MMA you have to have a balanced fighting style because MMA dosen't only use punches, they use kicks , ground fighting , submissions, elbows , knees , etc.... and in MMA you have to worry about your opponent using different styles as in judo, ju jit shu, tea kwon do, mauy thia , in MMA there are more obstacles to over come from a MMA fighter
