Jump roping or Jogging? Jump roping of course well greatly with coordination and rhythm, but for condition purposes, in the sense of overall endurance, does it allow you to have the endurance to box multiple rounds. Or is it a supplement to jogging? So which do you think is more effective endurance wise- jogging or jump roping. Most thorough answer gets 10 points.

  1. I (as a boxer just getting his feet wet) fell its best to do both I jog at home than jump rope two or three rounds at the gym. Both are good conditioning I think.

  2. Jogging will provide a better base, in terms of leg endurance, than skipping rope.  Jogging long distances however, doesn't necessarily translate into being able to box several rounds.  It just means that your legs are less likely to give out from all the movement.

The best overall method of conditioning in boxing is high intensity interval training.  I can't really explain it well so here's an article specifically for boxing endurance.
