  1. Challenged?  IF you mean Just Challenged regardless of WIN or LOSS,  the EARLIEST in a Career, that I know of is Pete Rademacher.  He was "Given" a shot at Floyd Patterson's Hvy. Title is his FIRST PRO BOUT.

This, despite the fact that Cus D'Amato carefully steered Patterson away from Eddie Machen and Zora Foley.  To his credit Floyd did face Johansson, whom his camp felt was a safer opponent.   He also faced Sonny Liston.   We all know what happened there.

  2. Devon P is correct.

Pete Rademacher challenged Floyd Patterson in his first pro bout back in 1957 and was KO'd in the sixth round.

  3. I think it was Leon Spinks vs. Ali  after only 8 pro fights The Rademacher-Patterson fight was the 1st time an amateur fought for a Heavyweight crown.

  4. mike tyson

  5. well Tyson was the youngest champion but i have a feeling this is a trick question since eveyone else metioned some Pete Fudrucker guy.... so if i google the guy it will probably say he got a world title shot after one or 2 fights as a pro.... i think Spinks got a shot at Ali, not sure if for a title, after 7 pro fights

  6. I do know that there was a fighter by the name of Pete Rademacher who challenged Floyd Patterson in only his first fight but was KO'd!

  7. Mike Tyson at 20

  8. It's already been said. Pete Rademacher  in his first pro fight v Floyd Patterson.

  9. 1956 olympic heavyweight gold medalist pete rademacher on august 22, 1957 against world heavyweight champion floyd patterson, rademacher made his pro debut and got ko in 6 rounds.
