ive gotten really interested in boxing for about a year now and would like to what weight class i would probably fight at, my natural walk around weight is 135 and im 5,9 (yea im skinny)

i haven't jogged, ran or anything in a long while and i know i will need to start those things up and more. so my main question is since a boxer will need to build strength as well as other attributes i would probably have to gain some muscle so im wondering will the weight i lose from running and diet and such counter balance some of the muscle weight i might need to put on(i would rather fight at lightweight-135 than junoir welterweight-140) also i am 20 years old almost 21

  1. lightweight is at 132. you would either fight at lightweight or at featherweight. firstly and more importantly than what weight division you fight at is simply getting a trainer and start working your boxing at a gym

  2. Your manager will help you with the proper training and diet, if you wanna stay in the Lightweight division you can build muscle without gaining much weight with the appropiated diet.
