  1. Definitely normal,  be warned though, that's not all, he will soon get another growth spurt. I am 14 now, and so far, I've had two. I was size 7.5 last year, and now I am size 9.5

  2. ok this is normal i am short really short and in 7th grade most of the people are tall and some taller than teachers so growth spurts come before others

  3. I have two sons, 8 and 10 and they got thinner as they got older but they don't usually hit the height change until they are 12.  I would say maybe limit his bad foods and replace them with apples or fruit, make sure he chews his food well and doesn't inhale it like my kids DO!  LOL.  Otherwise, it happens that sometimes they get bigger, but 10 husky is kind of too big of a jump at age 7.  I would say maybe find something he enjoys.  My boys started racing BMX at 6, and became very muscular little legs.  There is also Swimming teams for his age and the local Rec centers have team sports.  My boys also played fng starting at football starting at 7 and golfing around age 6.  If he dislikes team sports, try an individual sport, just to get him used to healthy daily activity.  BMX is a little on the rough side, it's actually considered an extreme sport.  I would avoid that one unless is a very good rider.  Golf is an individual sport and Tennis is a VERY GOOD sport to pick up that he can excel in at the middle school level that will creat a high self esteem, if he starts early.  My 13 yr old started T ball at 5 and played for 7 yrs following and is just now realizing how wonderful it feels to be VERY good at a sport that few can play in school, she also started Tennis at 7 or 8, shes a highly active girl and very confident, learning to be active now creates a confidence in them throughout their lives as they get into the tougher grades.  This is a VERY good feeling when 6th grade hits, to know your above the rest of the team.

The teams in middle schools usually are not too competitive, and they meet so many new people that enjoy the same sport and it creates new freindships.  Consider getting him into something fun that he enjoys, and don't let him quit too fast.  It usually takes a year or two for them to grasp a sport, once they have a good coach or good idea of the rules, they will either like it or hate it.  My 8 yr old played T ball for 2 years and HATED it and first yr of football had a bad coach but now? Loves Football and wants to try Baseball again.  Just takes time. Wish you luck and avoid bad snacking and he should be fine.
