Hi gang-

My stepson sees reading as a chore or punishment, until this weekend, we picked up a book called Diary of a Wimpy Boy as part of his easter gift, adn he's in love with it..... tryingt o keep ahead of the eventual, only two versions/chapters/books in the series exist to date; so does anyone have suggestions to similar books. I think the reason he likes it so much is it's in actual handwriting like a kid wrote it and drew in it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

  1. My son likes Franny K Stein, Captain Underpants, Goosebumps.  He also loves Calvin and Hobbes which was a comic strip years and years ago. You can go to any bookstore and they will have it. Hope this helps!!

  2. Try 'The Dangerous Book for Boys"

It is non-fiction and teaches all sort of neat-o things like how to tie a square not and how to shoot a bow and Arrow and all sorts of other things.

  5. All I can do is shake my head and wonder what kind of books you're talking about.

What got me interested in reading were, in consecutive order:

The Great Big Golden Book of Trains

    Mickey Sees the USA

Treasure Island (artistically illustrated in rich color)

    Pond World

    The Sea Around Us

All of the above books were either birthday or Xtimas gifts, and I treasured them highly up until I lost them when I became homeless back in 1999.  Now not homeless, I miss my books greatly.  They were great books!
