Boy in girl's clothes???

Question

I remember being told by a woman I worked with a few years ago that she lived next door to someone who wanted a girl and never had one,

Even at several years old she'd dress him as a girl.

Anyone else heard of similar?

Wow. I was at the grocery store and saw a lady with twin boys, probably about 6 or 7 years old. One of them was dressed like a boy but the other one was dressed like a girl. He had girl shoes, nail polish, a hair band, the whole works. I wonder if this is some psychological condition with mothers...

well its common for people who want a daughter but get a son so they would try any methods to have a daughter

That's pretty scary.  Now, my husband has family members with two daughters.  The older one was a girly girl, while the younger one is the epitome of tomboy.  Her parents not only allowed, but really encouraged her to be that way when she was little.  I see nothing wrong with letting a child be herself, but encouraging her to be rather boyish is a bit strange.  I think they were trying to fill the void from not having a son of their own, especially since both parents are quite sporty.  

Still, I have to say there is a big difference between a tomboy and a boy who dresses like a girl.

This is a very selfish parent who is only thinking about herself.  She is gong to damge this child psychologically and emotionally.  This child will feel rejected by her, and "not good enough".  This is a dangerous situation.
