She lives in Palestine and she applied for a green card to come here to the U.S. They approved, but she has to wait 3 months to receive it. Why?

Is this normal?

  1. If she was interviewed in Jerusalem, she didn't apply for a green card, she applied for an immigrant visa that will lead to a green card after she arrives in the US. So, what exactly did they tell her at the interview? If she was approved, the visa should have been issued within several days. If she has the visa, it may well take USCIS several months to get a green card after her arrival, simply to process the paperwork, make the card and get it to her.

  2. Yes, all good things take time.  Congrats to her.

  3. Your hot. If you need a greencard I'll marry you.

  4. It can take up to 90 days to order the production of a green card once approved and for it to be mailed out.

90 days is a bit extreme, but possible.

  5. There can be any number of reasons for the delay, and delays are not uncommon between receiving an approval notice and the actual card. For residents of the Palestinian territories, there are additional complexities concerning physical delivery/receipt of the card.

  6. Your to late Italian dude, I've all ready adopted her...lol!
