Boyfriend + Puppy = ???

Question

I was talking to my boyfriend about how I really wanted another dog. (I have 2 right now) I was joking and told him that he had to get me one for my birthday. Well today he txted me and said that he had gotten me a puppy. That doesn't sound bad right? But the problem for me is that we have only been dating for about 4 mnts.

Here's the question. Should I accept the puppy?

thats cute. just make a deal w/ him and accept it. make sure to tell him you were just kidding, and let him have a say in the name. make it partly his too.

I assume you don't live together yet. But yes you should accept the puppy. If you don't, it's just disrespectful. Simple as that.

I would say no because

1. You didnt really think this one threw. I want another dog too, but do I have the room? Am i home long enough? Do i have time to train him? Do i need to clean up extra piled of ****? No, no, no.

2. Whos puppy is it really going to be? Are you the one whos going to have to take care of him? If he? Hes going to be attached to the puppy too. Even if he buys it for you, hes still going to care for the puppy. Where is the puppy going to stay?

3.Youve only been dating for 4 months? What if it doesnt work out? Whos going to keep him? My sister and her bf bought a puppy and then broke up, and trust me they were both heartbroken.

4. You already have 2 dogs. Unless you have a big place (which im just assuming you dont have your own house with a backyard) then there is no room for 3 dogs.

But... I dont know you or your relationship so just consider my reasons and decide whats best for you.

It would be easier for the puppy if your brought it right back to the pet store instead of keeping it for a week or a month and then bringing it back.

Your boyfriend wouldnt be upset if you explained to him how sweet the gesture was, your just not ready for the puppy yet. If he cares about you, he'll understand completly.

You told him you wanted a puppy for your birthday and then when he gets you one you don't know if you should accept it?  Umm.... yes.  Accept the puppy.  It is a gift.  If you guys stay together than great.  If you break up, the puppy is still yours.  It doesn't belong to the both of you.  If you plan on breaking up with him any time soon then do not accept the puppy.

yeah you should accept the puppy weather you want it or not still take it and your boyfriend will do anything to keep you in his life so accept it then he will know how much u really love and care about him.
