Ugh, I hate guys that can't kiss, especially the ones where they try to swallow your face. In my experience there isn't much that can be done, you can talk to him, but he will likely get his feelings hurt, and still suck at kissing. If you like him enough it shouldn't matter, though.

Well, I wouldn't really tell him bluntly because he might get kind of upset about it.

My boyfriend used to have the same problem, but I've found that after awhile, you just get better at it.

Give him some time.

It'll get better and if it doesn't, then you can just very gently tell him that what he's doing isn't working for you.

As for knowing whether you're any good or not, there's no way of really knowing if someone isn't there to tell you.  Ask if you're feeling brave.
