Bpay payment error. Am I in trouble?

My car registration is due on 30/06. After this date my vehicle will be unregistered. I accidentally missed the last six digits in the reference number when doing a net bank transfer (BPAY). I called my bank who then said they will rectify the problem and make sure it gets paid to the correct reference number. HOWEVER, the bank said it can take up to 21 days to rectify and it is due on Monday!! I don't have anohter $500 to pay it again in the meantime. What do I do?? :(

You just explain your self, and do not pay until the bank makes the payment, but make sure you tell the authority concerned

The information you have been given seems wrong.

When I have made an error in a BPAY payment and it hasn't gone through I have found the money back in my account within days. I then can make the payment again with the correct details.
