  1. Sure 5 is about right I`m 31 so I wear a 36 but you should get a fitting each time you buy as brands and of course styles vary.Even if you stick with one brand your b*****s may have changed. Its just so important that you feel and look good all day that the extra time is worthwhile.

  2. I'm a 31 underneath and take a 36 band so i guess there's some truth in it. I would get measured by a professional because you need proper fitting bras when you're younger so that they don't sag prematurely.

  3. No no no!!!

This is why so many women in this country are wearing the wrong sized bras. That system changed many years ago but it is so deeply ingrained into peoples memories that they continue to use it. Going by the old system I measure at 36DD. However I am a 32FF in most bras!

You don't need a tape measure to fit a bra properly and I never use them.

Take a bra nearest to the actual size of the measurement under your bust. If it can be done up comfortably (i.e you can still breathe when it's done up on the tightest hook) then go down a back size e.g 36 down to 34. You should be wearing it on the loosest hook initially so that you can tighten it up as the bra stretches over time. For every back size you drop down, you will need to go up in the cup to maintain the actual size of them. So if you started at 38B and the cup was right, next go 36C, then maybe even 34D. It will probably feel much firmer than you are used to but the end result will be worth it!  When the band is right, try different cup sizes until you are completely in the cups with no spillage (too small) or wrinkles (too big). The wires will sit flat against your body all the way round and especially in the centre.

Finally, remember that every bra style and manufacturer will be different so don't assume that once you have figured out your size it will work in every bra. Always try them on- like shoes- and enlist the help of a fitter if you are in a department store. Sorry to say that the customers I see that have their sizes most wrong have often been fitted by M&S...

  4. if the under the breast measurment in odd add 5in if its even add 4 in
