  1. These sites are great:

  2. I'd say to try a 38D.

  3. Normally, you take the under bust measurement and this is your band size - or if it's an odd number, and one. So, you measure 36 under; your band size is 36.

There's a 6in difference. With A=1, B=2 etc, that puts you in 36E (US 36DDD/F). However, measurements are only a rough guide and they don't really determine your size. They should really only be used if you don't have a clue about your size and need a starting point. But you should be in the region of 36DD-FF. These websites should help you determine whether a bra fits:

  4. The internet told my mum shes anything from a C to a J. I would definitely consider going to a lingerie shop and getting a proper bra fitting service.

  5. just try on different size bras until you find one (non or lightly padded!) that fits you properly. thats what i did & i got a free bra measure at vistoria secrets & the lady measured it to exactly what i wear!

  6. I'm assuming you've measured in inches, not centimetres like you say, is this correct? (A 36cm under-bust is just over 14in.)

A lot of websites will tell you to add 4-5" to your under-bust to find band size. This results in a band size that is far too big, especially for UK bra brands which tend to be looser than American. If you want the proper support and fit, I think you should wear a 36 band size. 42-36=6, as you say, and a 6" difference correlates to a UK E cup.

I agree with the previous poster, then: 36E would be a good starting point for you, but you should try on a range of sizes, keeping in mind how a properly fitted bra should look. I suggest trying on 36DD, E, and F to see how you fill out the cups.

  7. if you go to marks and spencers they measure you and tell you what size you are as your bra size changes reguarly
