  1. Everyone deals with pain differently.

For me, I was not in any real "pain", but the first day or 2 after having braces on, my teeth were sensitive and I was uncomfortable but nothing warranted medication in my case.

It should not feel any worse than the first say you had them put on, so make a judgment call based on that experience.

    Good Luck!

  2. Of course it doesn't hurt as bad as getting braces but it's a bit tight after. So take an Ibuprofen before and after. One good strength Ibuprofen should be good! :)

  3. I've never taken pain medication that was successful after tightening braces. The best thing I did was take a shot of whiskey or burbon (even at a young age just cut back on the amount) and wish it around my mouth then down 2 advil.

  4. Hey, if you are converned that you will have pain, just play it safe and go ahaed and thake a pian pill 20 mimutes before your appointment.

  5. take it before because your mouth hurts after right after they tighten it and your mouth may hurt for a week. just keep the aspirin coming but don't over do it, or your body will 'crave' aspirin because you won't be able to use your own that your body makes.
