Braces- Metal or Ceramic?

Question

I am going into my freshman year of high school and want to know- which braces are better? which ones cause less pain, which ones take longer? I am having brace fitted tommorrow so please help!

Don't get them. The rot your teeth out. Its from the glue that they use.

I just got clear braces. They are GREAT. I get all the results of regular braces and more (they whiten your teeth) without anyone knowing I have them. The ones I got are called Invisalign. Ask your dentist about them.

It should take about 2 months for the people to get your trays to you after you get impressions. Oh yeah, did I mention? You can take them out to eat! Lol

well i used to have braces but i got them off a month before i started as a freshman this year.

i had the classic metal ones and i dont think a certain one causes less pain.

it just depends how much work you need on your mouth.

if you dont want your braces to be as noticeable then go with the ceramic ones.

and like 15 minutes before you get them on take an ibuprofen, it helps so you dont have to feel in pain for awhile :]

I don't know about ceramic but I've had the metal kind

For me the metal kind weren't painful but just annoying.  But of course all braces are annoying!!

Be sure to wear something to keep your lips unchapped.  When the braces go in and come off, they have to dry out your mouth BLEH!  For me that was the most annoying part

I would say go with metal because although the clear are less noticable in pics and stuff the clear ones stain!! and they take longer to shift you're teeth. Plus I bet a lot of people have braces in your grade so I don't know why you need to hide them. I'm going to be a junior and I have metal braces and I am only like 1 of three people in my grade who have braces ):
