  1. Since you JUST now got them, they will be sore for about a week, week and a half. Mine were excruciating. They ripped my cheeks apart and I couldn't eat anything for a week.

When they tighten your braces every month or so, you'll feel a little tightness. It will hurt for about two days. .

Rubber bands hurt like a mother too. But I found a way to be able to actually eat with em. Take em out about five minutes before you wanna eat and the pain subsides. After you finish eating, just put em back in.

  2. well yes...USUALLY every time you go to an appt theyll probaably be abit sensitive afterwards...but not ever time. or for me anyways. i mean sometimes after my appts i felt nothing whatsoever!

just stick to very soft/liquid foods and take some painkillers for a while.

youll get used to the feeling of the pain and youll be a pro at handling it!

also, my ortho told me that sometimes it helps if as soon as you have an appt, run out and eat/drink something cold such as ice cream cause it helps to prevent or delay the severity of the pain!

so id always look forward to getting a vanilla milkshake after an ortho appt. thats gotta make you feel better! (at least alittle bit!!)

  3. Well, first of all, you wont regret having braces after u see how great ur teeth look!!! Anyway, I guess it might be different for everybody. The first time I got them on....they hurt like c**p! And...with every monthly adjustment (tightening) it would hurt but it depends what wire and how much pressure ur orthodontist decides to put on your teeth. I recommend advil or something like that to relieve the pain...it worked for me! Good luck and have patience because it's worth it!

  4. they'll be really sore for the next 2-3 days, just take it easy for a bit. When you get them tightended it wont be as much pain however, they will be sore for a few hours. And dont worry your just no used to seeing your self with braces yet thats why you think they make you look bad.

  5. They'll probaby be sore for a week or two and feel rather odd. Then you will get used to them and not even notice them! (which is good).

However, when you go to get your braces tightened every 6-8 weeks it does leave you with a dull achey feeling in your teeth.. pop a couple of ibuprofen or paracetemol down ya n ul be fine :-D.

Had my braces for almost a year now, teeth straight :) . Just gotta wait for my jaw to align!

    Good luck.

    xx

  6. no dont worry.. since u barely got them on today there going to be sore for like 2 weeks but after that they wont (: u will of have gotten use to it okay. and no they dont hurt when u get them tightend well to some people yeah like i do but just for like a second after that no..

just eat soups apple sauce and drink smooties to help with the pain for now (:

  7. ok well they r sore for the first week when u get them on then like...when they tighten them it all depends some times they r sore for like 3 days and others u cant even realy tell they did any thing...i just got mine tightened and they hurt...and u will get use to ur self with them lol.

  8. ive had my brace for like a year and a half

the teeth soreness hurts just as bad when you get them tightened but it doesnt last as long

but when you get them tightened you dont have the pain of the sores on your cheeks added to the pain of the teeth so it isnt as bad

  9. if u can tolerate the pain the pain the first time adjustments are a piece of cake as the teeth that are really crooked u will feel most pain but the pain weres of and by ure first adjust ment u will laugh as u will be used to the minor pain you get
