  1. Elastics are used to correct your bite. The elastics should be more comfortable than the springs. Just make sure to wear them as instructed, this is the only thing that will correct your bite so it is up to you!

  2. Your ortho was probably waiting for your teeth to shift more, the rubber bands are to close space and align your teeth into the right position. Advice: WEAR YOUR RUBBERBANDS, they really work and can help you get your braces off sooner!

  3. my orthodontist told me that the elastics make the jaw move in line. i hated having elastics!! worst things ever!! worst than separaters and getting the braces tightened.

im not sure what the mini screws and springs do, sorry!

    good luck with everything!!

  4. maybe you should ask the ortho

  5. i neever had the screws or springs..but maybe you just need abit more help to fix the overbite or underbite that you have..

thats what elastics are used for: to fix your jaw bite, and they do it by holding your jaw in a special position (which is sometimes very awkward) so that your bite can be corrected.

elastics work really well...its amazing how well they fix your bite!

just make sure you wear your elastics!!! honestly, you will not get your braces off before you get your bite fixed. the orthos not gonna take the braces off if everything isnt perfect yet..!
