For you experienced people with braces.

Do you think this is normal:

I just got braces, but ONE tooth is totally effin loose. I know its common for your teeth to be loose because they are moving, but just ONE of them? How common is that?

The one tooth im referring too is soo loose I can literally see it move through my gums as well with the bracket still on it.

Clearly this is a problem right? Or, should I just not let it worry me.

Who has ever had braces and had ONE tooth be very loose.

I wouldnt be worried if all of my teeth were loose..but its just ONE of them, and it bothers me when I eat?

could it be that - thats the tooth that needs the most moving??

please make me feel better about my situation!

Thank yoU!@

  1. that doesnt sound right....i would call your orthodontist or go by there and let them check it out.

  2. that happened to me. also right when i got my braces put on. it stopped being so wiggly after a couple of days though. i bet it was the tooth that needed the most moviing, so it gets totally loose before it can get into place. good luck!

  3. I've had my braces for a long time now, and I can tell you one thing:  It's common.  Your teeth aren't used to having anything on them, and now that they are moving, they're dealing with it in an extreme way.  Mine did this too, and I had problems eating for almost two weeks.  Most of the time the tooth that bothered me the most was one of my front ones.

Don't worry, it'll go away in a couple weeks.  DON'T CHEW ON THAT SIDE OF THE MOUTH IF POSSIBLE, AND HAVE SOFT FOODS.  AVOID FRENCH BREAD!!! THAT HURTS!!!

  4. I really dont no whats going on but i would check with your ortho. if your worried. But really i wouldnt worry that much.

  5. how old are you, is a permanent, or a baby tooth

if it is a baby tooth, it is probably just is loose. if it is a permanent tooth, then it probably is loose cause it is the first one to move, cause you recently got braces.

If it is bothering you, go to your ortho, but it is probably nothing to worry about, but check with your ortho just in case.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!

  6. It doesn't help to just feel better about your situation you need to get information and get it taken care of. ;-) Go to your orthrodontist. I'd be surprised if this was a baby tooth coming out because you're supposed to wait until your adult teeth come in--and your doctor can tell the difference. So what this tells me is that either you don't have good bruching habits and there is some kind of hygiene/deterioration problem or your gums are infected.

Bottom line, go to your orthodontist.

Omigosh people the guy says he can watch the tooth move through his gums! Whether he's exaggerating or not, THAT is NOT normal!

  7. Well yeah it probably is just that it needs to move the most but maybe to make you feel better is just call your orthodontist and tell him and odds are he will just say that that is normal. Hope this helps solve your problem

  8. Have A Appointment Soon. Better be safe then sorry! It wont hurt just to ask :)
