Braces band came off when eating popcorn. Why is popcorn bad for braces?

okay so awhile back i had some popcorn and my braces band came off for some reason. i've eaten popcorn before and i had braces. but this time i was eating the popcorn and my band just broke/came off. why did my band come off and why is popcorn harmful to braces?

  1. because the cornels get caught in the brackets and it is chewy and sticky lol
