  1. just eat soft foods, and take some ibuprofen or advil. don't try to chew very much, it'll hurt. your mouth will get used to it soon.

  2. Chew some gum. It increases blood supply to the tooth therefore reducing pain.

  3. She CAN'T chew gum! It will get in her braces! Get your mom to go out and get some toothache gel and put that on, and depending on how old you are, take a tylenol PM if you're old enough and go to sleep. It will feel better in the morning.

  4. Tylenol or Motrin if you can take them...sorry, but that's about it!!  My son is going thru the same thing!  You can try popsicles, but they don't seem to help him much!

  5. I know it hurts but really the only thing to do it wait till it goes away but if it hurts to the touch use oral gel stuff it numbs it and you cant feel anything and take advil or something and have smoothies and soft food until the pain stops

  6. the best thing i ever did to reduce pain was this:

get a cup of ice cold water, take a big sip, & just hold the water in your mouth. when it starts to get warm, swish it around lightly & then swallow (or spit if you want) & just keep the cold water against your teeth :) it REALLY helps, alot more than pain killers ever did for me

  7. I just got my braces off. Get a bag of York Peppermint Patties, then put it in your mouth and just suck on it. I think any kind of peppermint helps but I always used York.

  8. Did you just have an appointment recently? They will hurt for a few days, but the pain will go away. I heard that putting something cold, like ice, helps.

  9. Take a nap ... or tell your ortho.
