Braces in 2 weeks; soo excited!!!!!!!!?

Question

i'm getting braces on 6th august and im soo excited! was anyone else excited before getting them? and will theese 2 weeks go fast??

also i am 13 and still suck my thumb! i know its really bebyish and im very unembarrassed but i really need to stop and i only have 2 weeks does anyone have any advice?????

i got my braces when i was 12, & i was soo excited haha. & after 3 long years, i get them off on wednesday, TWO more days of braces =D all i can say is, it is DEFINITELY worth everything you'll experience over the next months/years with braces.

& about the thumbsucking, you just need to face the habit head on. when you have the urge to suck your thumb, find something else to occupy your attention. read something or play a game or whatever.

You could try putting that stop on grow stuff on your nails, it tastes disgusting apparently!! Or sit on your hands! haha! And I loved my braces! My teeth are beautiful because of them!

I got braces around that age too - wasn't excited as such was more curious as to what it would be like.

I used to suck my thumb as well and found that once I got my braces it felt very different and I stopped then.

You could try eating some sugar-free gum or mints each time you feel you want to suck your thumb, but I believe you will grow out of it in time and your braces will probably help!

I bit my nails, but getting braces put a stop to that, mainly because I couldn't reach my nails anymore.

Hopefully will be something like that with your thumb.
