Question:

Braces in college?

by  |  earlier

So I'm planning to get braces in college, but the thing is, I'm moving to a completely different state for college. (I live in Hawaii, but am moving to Massachusetts for college) If I do get braces, I'd probably get them in Massachusetts and take care of them there. I've heard that there are monthly appointments with orthodontists. However, I'm planning to come back home during my winter and summer breaks. How would those monthly appointments work out during those months that I'm not in Massachusetts?

Will braces be possible?

Thank you so much!

  1. It will not be a problem to work your appointments around braces.  You might check with a dental school, if there's one in the college you're attending, to see if they will accept you as an orthodontic patient.  Good luck and bring something warm to replace your surfboard and sunglasses!

  2. its still possible, ive skipped a month before, it doesn't really do much except slow the process down cause it can add a month extra to it. Just ask if your dentist could set up an earlier time to go and get it tightened for that month or maybe see if you could go to an orthodontist in hawaii the times you're there for break

  3. disregard the comment the guy made about not having friends in college. I'm 25 with braces and I have more friends now than I did IN college.

    Braces are normal now.

To answer your question, it can be made possible.

  4. you can make an apointment for when you get back thats what they will tell u

  5. Get ready to have no friends though.
