I just got braces yesterday and today i woke up this morning with a loose bracket on the bottom of my teeth. It shifted a bit to the left and i put it back in place. i haven't eaten anything hard and i brushed my teeth like three times XD. Its the second day and i've failed already, my orthodontist place is closed on Sundays and i don't know what to do. :[

  1. You should be fine until they open again; you'll need to go back in and have them cement the loose bracket back in place.  Sometimes, the cement doesn't adhere like it should, and loose brackets happen right after being put on...this almost certainly wasn't because of anything you did.  Once they get it fixed up, keep following their instructions and you should have minimal problems with broken brackets.

  2. we lived 45 minutes from the orthodontist...i got my braces we went shopping for a little bit. seriously about 30 minutes after i was done a whole bracket just fell off. so we went back to the orthodontist and they just took it off and i left that bracket off for awhile until there was more room in my mouth. sometimes your teeth aren't ready for all the brackets to fit on the wire. this happens all the time. i promise.

  3. I suggest calling in sometime just to notify them, they may schedule an appointment for you, but you should be fine if you wait for your next appointment.

  4. First of all, it isn't because the glue wasn't hard enough to stick. If you woke up with it, you probably grind your teeth some when you sleep and hit it with your top teeth. Even shifting your jaw from side to side you can feel the brackets. Your teeth with move quickly and once they do, it shouldn't be a problem unless you eat things that can cause damage.  You didn't fail...sometimes it's unavoidable.  Unlike some of the comments, it really isn't okay to have broken brackets regularly and you should have it repaired as soon as they can get you in.  Usually the more broken brackets you have the longer your treatment time can be.  You'll do great!

  5. do not worry about a loose  bracket i used to get them all the time! it is fine

  6. it was not your fault, sometimes the glue doesn't dry as fast, so it happens all the time. if you can, move it back to the right place and out a little, tiny piece of wax on the back a put it back until you can get to the dentists office. don't eat anything hard or sticky because it could cause more problems.
