  1. Firstly stop freaking out. It's really not that bad. All the metal objects on the side aren't for people getting their braces. The worst part of it all is probably that the glue doesn't taste that nice but that can be avoided by not l*****g it (like I did). Trust me, you'll look completely different when you get them off. But don't worry, they don't give u injections or anything, they just stick on the brackets (the little square on each tooth) then thread the wire through.

    Good Luck!

  2. heyy

i am facing the same prospect as you and i get nervous worrying about it. but then i realize HEAPS of people get braces sure it may hurt but think of how much more confident you will be to smile instead of worrying about your teeth.

I dont think they use needles unless you need to get teeth pulled out if your mouth is overcrowded like mine. but dont worry needles dont hurt. hurt less then feeling the tooth come out.

so relax and remember its something a lot of people have to go through

    good luck =D

  3. I have a fear of dentists and there beyond morbidly creepy tools and instruments!!

It might be an idea to speak to an orthodontist about getting an invisalign! If you're teeth are quite straight, and the only issue is gaps, invisalign my be an option for you. If you're not sure what i am talking about, it is basically a mouth guard formed to the shape of your mouth.

Check out the link below for all answers you require about it

    Hope this helps :)

  4. No they dont use needles as a matter of fact they do it better now than they use to,take you some ibprphen before you go and you willbe ok.its a little uncomfortable for a day or to because of the pressure from the braces but not unbearable.you will do fine.

  5. they dont use needles or anything! they dont hurt like at all. your teeth are just sore from moving, so its hard to bite stuff. if anyone says it hurts so much then they are wrong. even my friend who just got them said wow this doesnt hurt at all spacers hurt more than this.

  6. i think you should chill. i had an overbite but after braces and all my teeth looked almost perfect. just remember the great ending and the effect it'll have on your confidence levels.

  7. I don't think they use needles or anything like that. It's relatively painless and in most cases it's something you'll be glad you did when you get older.

  8. Believe me, they don't hurt. They will only hurt for the first couple of days, and/or when you get them tightened/adjusted. I suggest def take an advil or bufferin beforehand, and just relax. There are no needles or surgery tools used. Every tool that a orthodontist uses is dental foundation. If you get braces, in the end, you will be SO happy you got them. They really pay off, you just have to give them time. Hope this helps, GOOD LUCK:)

  9. Lol its not THAT bad you know ><!

or you can ask him to put you into deep sleep and work with your teeth =o that wud be fine i guess...but still you wud pay way more $_$!!

Just do wut i do :D i just close my eyes and think of chocolate

  10. Ok, first of all, they don't use surgical stuff. They just use them if they really have to, like if your teeth are soooooo bad. Braces just hurt because they pull your teeth together. They'd just hurt for 3 days to 1 week. Actually having braces is pretty fun!! You can put colors at the brackets!! (hope this helped you)

  11. Hiya, I was 13 when I got my braces. I was scared like you too. But really there is nothing to worry about. No, there are no needles used. I closed my eyes when they were putting the braces on and they did not hurt a bit just felt a bit weird and my mouth felt heavy. When I got home after a couple of hours my mouth was kinda sore and it started aching a bit, this lasted for about a couple of days. You cannot eat solids, in my case for nearly two weeks. But, it doesn't hurt thaaat much. It just feels sore and different, you get used to it after a week or so don't worry. After that  the tightening can be a little painful for less then a hour I'd say and you cannot eat for a day or so, but it is possible I suppose. My pain tolerance is not at all good but it is not "painful" as such just sore from time to time(at tightenings& when you get them first put on) but really all in all there's nothing to fear. You'll have a great smile at the end of it=D

  12. When I had braces, the first thing they did a week or two before the braces was put these little spacer things in the back of your teeth top and bottom on each side for a bracket type band to go around them, for the braces to hook to. Take some advil your teeth will be a little bit sore. Then when they are putting braces on they pop the bands on (a little uncomfortable, then they stick the rest of the stuff on and after about 45 min your done!) No needles involved at all, your teeth will be pretty sore but if you take advil or something and eat soft foods you'll manage. It's well worth it in the end!

  13. they don't use needles and stuff like that.they just put some solution thinge on your teeth and then stick the braces.it just does not pain at all,but after 3-4 hours you'll feel that its pretty heavy and then it pains and then you'll not be able to eat properly for at least 3 days.and soon you'll get used to it.
