My teeth are hurting a lot ! I can hardly open my mouth. I went to the dentist yesterday and they changed my wire to a stronger one; is the pain caused by the stronger wire? What can I do about the pain? & how long does it last??

  1. Yep, unfortunately it will hurt for a day or two. Try Tylenol! Your teeth hurt because they are being pulled slowly into place by the new wire. It will hurt every time you get the wires adjusted/tightened, too.  Good luck!

  2. i have no idea im gna put braces after tomoro im soo scared but the dentest said it dosent hurt much nd there gna stay for 6 months:P  gd luck then...

  3. it should last about 4 days and then settle down, makes your teeth very sensitive. if it hasnt settled by then go back to the dentist

  4. i used to feel the pain when i had braces, but i found that if i force myself to eat on my teeth, the pain will disappear in 2-3 days. try it, u'll suffer for 3 days but u'll feel good for weeks

  5. same thing happened to me when i changed my wire. i know it hurts but it should be gone in 3-4 days tops

  6. U can usally just take some advil and stick 2 soft foods and the pain will go away in about 2 days.

  7. Aah brings back memories.

It will hurt for a couple of days but the pain will gradually decrease. the first 2 days will be the worst. tomorrow when you wake up it will probably be h**l (sorry to say) but.. it WILL get better, trust me.

Back in the day when I had braces (which is actually only about 2 years ago) I'd just eat white bread and yogurt (and ice cream heehee) for a couple of days until my teeth stopped hurting so bad.

So.. be strong and hang in there and you'll have a beautiful smile soon =D

  8. first, dont eat hard to chew foods

    pain reliever

about a week when its completely gone (not to scare u)
