  1. mine were very expensive i think because the were 6.5K and i stillhave them on. i think it is very worth it because if you wait till you are older you have to have surgery to correct your jaw. This is because your teth have allready grwn and cant be straghtened with just braces.

the pain isn that intense nly when you fist getthem on and when you get the tightened.

    hope this helped

  2. I only had to pay $1000.00 out of my cash because my insurance overed the rest. I thikn it's worth the money. You'd be supprised by how different you look after getting braces off with straight teeth.

  3. Hey, first let me say I've only just recently gotten my braces off after a little less than two years.

Yes, they can be uncomfortable, especially if you play a wind/brass instrument or do something that regularly puts pressure on your mouth.

The average amount of time to have braces on is 18 months but this can be longer/shorter, especially if you have an overbite/underbite or more widespread problems.

The cost of braces depends on which orthodontist you go to, weather you have coloured or transparent braces, how many appointments you require and if you are constantly having add-ons made.

The pain depends on the person, personally I found the tightening the most painful part. Getting them on can be nerve wracking but not very painful in fact it only tastes bad. The best pain medication to take for me was panadol or nurofen. The spaces they put in before can be a little painful too.

It is definately worth getting braces, when you have them on it will seem like the worst thing in the world, but if your not bothered people will notice less. The best bit is at the end, they take them off and you'll have a beautiful smile. All you have to do to maintain all of that hard work is wear a retainer for a little while. It begins as everyday but eventually is only at night and then only 4 nights a week (depending on the person).

  4. i got mine for 5000 but that was the best u could get but it takes 3 months off the time that it should ussauly take but u could get some for 3000

its worth it in the long run

  5. You Usually need them for about 18 months

  6. Average price: $3k (Assuming without any health insurance)

Period to wear: 2 years -3 years

    Satisfaction: Yes

Its painful to wear for the first few months but you get used to it, and it feels like you're not wearing anything at all.

  7. It really does depend on your circumstances - maybe a year and a half? I've had mine on for 2 years now, but i've had one last adult tooth to come down from the roof of my mouth and an overbite. I think mine cost a few thousand dollars all up, with the cost of surgery and consultations.

As for the pain, the first few days are the worst because you've never had the pressure on your teeth, and then after that the adjustments hurt because they're tightening the metal bits. The orthodontist will tell you what medication you can take, probably Panadol. As for food, try putting chips in a bowl of soup to soften the sharp edges of the chips, or a smoothie made with frozen raspberies, vanilla custard, milk and the best vanilla ice cream you can find!

  8. It ranges so much you will have to see an orthodontist...

I had mine on for 18 months and they were $2K but that was ages ago....

  10. I got mine for 6000 and I'm in New Zealand...so it should be quite similar in prices. I had them on for 18 months...but my dentist told me my braces were called "speed braces"...they're practically the same cept they dont have those coloured thingies on them.

The only pain you feel, is in the first week or so, where you can barely eat. Its torture. After that, its not tooo bad. Sometimes you get ulcers and your llip can even get stuck to one of the brackets, but that's rare.

I had mine top and bottom aswell. They work.

  11. <small> I had braces -.- THEY ARE g*y.  They hurt for the first week, and it takes at least a month to get use to them cause they feel weird.

Im pretty sure you cant get braces any more than $10,000 unless you get some high quality package and you go through all the steps. but usually just braces cost around 5 Thousand. and it you will prob have them on for about a year and a bit if your teeth arent too crooked. then you've gotta have a retainer for about a year too make sure your teeth to fall back into place.

  12. You defiantly should get braces but wit good insurance u can get them 4 $200! And also they dont hurt at all!

  13. i got mine last month.. i think they cost $5000 but im not sure.. my parents took care of it and i didnt relly bothered askin.. it doesnt relly hurt.. apart from when i had to get my wisdom teeth removed and my other tooth but thats only cuz i have crowding.. you might not actually need any teeth removed!!!!!! i tink it is worth it cause after when everytings all finished ill have straight teeth!!
