Braces tightened for the first time in 5 months, it hurts so bad?

How can I ease the pain? I've had my braces tightened many times before...But it never ever hurt this bad. I tried IBprofen, but it didn't work!

Take more but not too much:)

also drink cool temperated things but nothing cold like ice cream it will hurt like crazy and theirs this stuff called orajel and you can put it on your gums and stuff it works like a charm

do not drink anything hot first of all, it only makes it worse, i learned the hard way. try something cold, like a milkshake or smoothie.
