Question:

Braces wire poking my cheek, what's the fastest way to cure it?

The wire at the very back of my teeth is sticking out and cutting my cheek. Sadly, I'm in another country and won't be back for another month. I tried to bend it, but I can't. And I did not bring any wax with me. What is a long-term fix for this?

  1. I hated that. :(

There isn't really a long-term fix. You're supposed to go back to your ortho if the wires are uncomfortable. There's no wax you're able to buy there?

I'm sorry! That must suck being on vacation.

  2. Sorry no long term fix, just short term... As your teeth get "straighter" the wires poke out the ends.. For now try some guaze until you can get some wax.. Get to your Ortho as soon as you can to trim the wires.. Good Luck

  3. any dentist can fix it, anyway you can have an orthodontist in that place fix it, they can charge you for fixing.

  4. I would see if you could find a orthodontist where you are. They can cut it off for you, bend it away or possibly have the wax you need.  I had dental implants and my dental professional was 500 miles from me. A tooth popped off my temporary teeth and I didn't know what to do. I called a dentist in my town and they glued it on for me for free. Grant it I wasn't in a different country but still they didn't mind helping. So you might have the same experience if you called around.

  5. use dental wax. press it onto the brace or chewing gum and it wont hurt so much.

  6. i would just put like a cotton ball there
