what's the headgear for??

is it true that light colours fade?

does it hurt when they tighten them.

is clear a good choice colour?

are the pain in braces bearable?

i have braces so if u want pick clear but it kind of looks cool if you pick silver or black or any of your favorite colors.  the headgear is only for at night  (if you need it) and you only get it if your teeth are in really bad shape.  light colors do not fade so don't worry about that and it does not hurt but your mouth will just be a little sore for like the first two days.  and yes don't worry the pain is bearable because there hardly is any pain at all! plus you get to pic whatever colors you want and in any order!!!

headgear is an appliance worn outside of the mouth to provide traction for growth modification and tooth movement. you pretty much will look like this:

im sure that your braces will fade just a little bit from brushing them but not too much. my friends all say it hurts really bad when they get their braces tightened and that they dont feel like eating because it hurts so much to chew.

i wouldnt get clear, i'd get a pretty color like pink or green. im sure the pain will be bearable. it will prob. only hurt for the first couple of weeks.

Headgear is an orthodontic appliance typically used in growing patients to correct overbites by holding back the growth of the upper jaw, allowing the lower jaw to catch up. Headgear needs to be worn approximately 12 to 22 hrs to be truly effective in correcting the overbite, usually anywhere from 6 to 18 months depending on the severity of the overbite and how much a patient is growing.

Light colors do fade a bit, and i would never go with clear, you will stain them quick. I used to get silver, because it just matched my braces (metal) anyways and that way it would never look tacky.

When your at the ortho and they tighten them, it doesn't hurt. It's more like an hour later, and when you try to eat. It's not a major pain, it's just more annoying than anything.

The only thing that really ever 'hurt' me was when they put my spacers in. That sucked and it was because i couldn't eat anything. Smoothies where my meals for awhile.

All in all, braces aren't that painful, they just take some getting used to. It's nothing like getting a tattoo or anything like that. Plus, your teeth are going to be absolutely gorgeous after...and it makes it all worth it. Trust me, i'm so thankful that i had them.
