i'm getting braces in like three days and i was just wondering how the process goes

okay they like clean your teeth, dry them, put like this cement stuff in the metal bracket and stick it to your tooth then thay continue that till they get all the teeth they need then they put this other bracket on your back teeth (this one is like a band that goes all the wayaround your tooth with little tiny cylinder things on them) then they put this thin wire through the cylinder things and around your other brackets, put on the rubberbands and trim the access wire

THEN YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!!!

Well have you had your moulds done??

They dry your mouth out to make it easier to work with

the next stage is the brakets the go on with a little bit of wierd tasting glue

then they cut the wire to the right size and fit it in the brakets - it might be a bit uncomfortable

Then you get to chose wat colour bands to have on your teeth

then they but those over the wire to hold everything together

then they ask you to check how it feels (tell them is anythings sticking in - it saves a trip back)

and then you go - and take painkillers (I didn't get any sleep the first night)

They put in some kind of tool that will hold your lips and mouth open, it keeps your lips from touching your teeth while they are working. It stretches your lips a little so make sure to bring chapstick or l**k your lips before they put it in. after that they clean your teeth really good. Then they will dry your teeth off with the air blower they use at the dentist. They put a little cement on the tooth and attach the bracket. They use a blue LED type light to dry the cement and move on to the other teeth. They will make you brush your teeth after they attach all the brackets and then they will attach they wire. If they are doing rubber bands they will put those in too. After that you are good to go. Took me about an hour for the entire process. Good luck and enjoy!

After you sit in the chair, they will start putting these plastic things, which will manually hold open your mouth, as if you were grabbing both corners of your lips.  Then, since your mouth is open, they will start drying your mouth, and your toungue will feel really stiff and dry.. Then, they will coat your teeth, where the brackets will go will glue.  If you do happen to taste it, you'll find that it's quite sour!  Then, one tooth at a time, they will place a bracket on, and shine a blue light on it to dry the glue, and cement it in place.  They'll do this for each tooth, and they may do the light once more..  Then, they'll put the wire on, and seal it off with the little colors.  Try to stay away from Light colors, expecially yellow and white, because they will make your teeth appear yellow...  The best colors are the brighter ones because they appear bolder.   Good Luck with your braces!

Heyy, i got mine about 7 weeks ago. First they clean your teeth. Then they glue the brackets (the little squares) onto your teeth. Then they put the wires through the brackets and then you can choose a colour for your bands which hold the wires in place. It doesn't take very long - it only took me about half an hour. Good luck ! ok i have had braces for a year here we go....

this may differ beetween dentist

.1 he/she will put a paste or glue on you teeth

2. he/she will put each bracket on and put like a light on it (i think it is to help the paste dry)

3. he/she will put the wire on

4. he/she will put the things on top of the bracket

5. the tightness will kick in you will have very sore teeth for about a week.

5. the tightness will go and you will get used to having braces

6.each month they will get tightend it doesn't hurt that much don't worry
