Brackloon High likely to thrive at Cheltenham – Challenge Cup Preview
Brackloon High is expected to capitalise well on his sky-high confidence and finish first in the high-voltage contest of Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase at Cheltenham racecourse on Thursday, March 15.
In the midst of the haughty Cheltenham Festival, this race is going to draw big bankrolls and mass spectators. The Class 2 contest of 3m1f110y distance is scheduled to begin at 4:40 (GMT).
For the huge prize money worth £29,980, Brackloon High will compete confidently against his 23 rivals who include some big names.
The Noel Chance-trained bay gelding is on a hat-trick. The young and talented runner won a race each in January and February 2012. Now, he is all ready to add third straight success to his career chart.
Since making his debut in October 2009, the maverick horse has been at the peak of momentum. He registered a fabulous hat-trick by winning three big events in a row during January-November 2010.
Overall, the gifted gelding has won five out of his total 10 races so far, having 50 percent success ratio. He has earned £17,741 in prize money.
In today’s competition, Brackloon High is likely to exhibit a big run. His chances to finish first are more than 90 percent provided he manages to perpetuate his winning momentum.
Among his competitors, Midnight Appeal and Mostly Bob seem to be tough enough.
Midnight Appeal won four races in a row from February 2011 to April. Alan King’s bay gelding moved forward to finish second and third in his two subsequent outings.
After getting second spot in his second last start in December, he went on to stand first in his last race on February 17, 2012. As a whole, he has won 5 out of his total 15 races to date.
Mostly Bob too possesses an excellent track record. The trainee of Philip Hobbs finished fifth each in two consecutive races during November-December 2011. The veteran gelding grabbed top spot in his last outing on January 1, 2012.
Both these geldings are likely to challenge Brackloon High’s favourite position and give him plenty of tough time on the course. Let us see how Brackloon High keeps his head high. Good luck to the horse.
