a save to make yesterday, so much for the dynamic duo?

Keane and Torres are both good strikers, i thought they would have worked better together.

I know Torres got Injured and Keane was playing on the left but i'm going on past games as well - your views please?

  1. Brad Friedel is a great goalkeeper

  2. exactly mate. i wonder how some fans can even think of them winning without gerrard and torres. possible, but its gonna be very difficult as even with them, it seemed like the goals would take forever to come.

  3. Keane is a FLOP.

My brother and I said it as soon as he signed for them. Torres doesn't need Keane to get in his way all the time.

  4. As long as Liverpool can win matches without Gerrard and Torres, they are considered the best team in the world.

  5. totally agree every team needs one striker to score the goals and the other one to be the target man / hold the ball up. so many examples heskey - zaki, crouch - defoe, ashton - bellamy, santa cruz - roberts. Torres and keane are the same player it doesnt work they both like to be latching onto a through ball.

  6. Shows you how Rafa Benitez is tactically inept. Imagine buying strikers (Kuyt and Keane) and playing them out of position. So what do you get, a display of negative football.

  7. Keane isn't a flop as some twit has posted, but he needs time to fit into the Liverpool set up, and it didn't help with him being shoved out into the alien position of left wing.  Partnerships don't just happen, they evolve.  Keane and Torres could work like Lineker and Beardsley in the 1986 World Cup: one clever striker to pick out the killer passes, and one quick, out-and-out striker to score the goals having made the runs to get on the end of such passes.

Benitez negative tactics didn't help either.  They were playing not to lose, rather than playing to win.  It might work in cagey European games, but is not good enough if you desire to win the Premiership.

  8. i think Liverpool didn't need Keane and should have signed him

    and 20 mill is overprice

as Torres is good on his own as he showed last season

with Liverpool players giving him  ammunition

but if Keane starts scoring he and Torres can be great partnership

  9. Keane has done bugger all since he signed for Liverpool and more worringly for Liverpool fans is neither has Torres since Keane arrived.
