The former Aston Villa goalkeeper has come out and made it clear that there is no crisis situation at Tottenham Hotspur despite their woeful form in the last few weeks in the English Premier League...
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 has been at the centre of Tottenham’s surge up the table this season. Ever since the start of the season, Freidel’s experience and calmness in goal has paved the way for Tottenham’s strength in defence as well as their
exuberance up front.
In front of him, the American shot stopper has had an ever changing defensive line up but that has not hurt his form one bit as Friedel has held his own in between the sticks even though he is much older than other goalkeepers
in the Premier League. Over the past three to four weeks, Tottenham’s form has steadily declined but Friedel is now adamant that there is no crisis situation at the club.
At one time in the season, Tottenham had a 13 point gap between themselves and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 but now that gap has evaporated and the Spurs find themselves fourth in the Premier League standings behind the likes of Arsenal and Manchester
United as well as Manchester City. From being touted up as potential title contenders to now barely holding onto a UEFA Champions League qualification spot, things have turned sour at the White Hart Lane.
Friedel said, "Football is not pressure. It might be for some, if you want to heap the pressure on then that's you as an individual person. But you play football, it's a game. We want to play well, we want to win but we all saw
here last Saturday what pressure was. I've got three kids and raising them is far more pressure than a football match.”
He added, "I don't think it's about holding your nerve, it's about going out and enjoying yourself and expressing yourself because those are the type of players we have. It's continuing what we've been doing all season long. Sometimes
you can play very poorly and win a game and then nobody says anything. But we've been playing really good football without getting the results we want."
