The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper has revealed that the upcoming league season might be his last one in English football because of his age as he is getting old and reaching the end of his 15 year old career in English football....
One of the most experienced and respected goalkeepers in English football, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 recently revealed that the next league season for Tottenham might be his last one in the Premier League as he is reaching the wrong end of
his career now.
The former Liverpool man has been impressive throughout his 15 years in English football as he has played for the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 under different managers such as Martin O’Neill and Harry Redknapp.
Friedel moved to Tottenham a year ago from Aston Villa and he has since then done well for the North London club.
As Andre Villas Boas prepares his team for the new season, it is certain that Friedel will be his first choice goalkeeper due to the immense amount of experience that the confident American brings to the first team. Not only that,
Friedel has been solid in between the sticks unlike other goalkeepers in the league and has seldom given the fans a reason to doubt his talents.
The Tottenham shot stopper said, "How much more do I got? Let's get through this [season] first. I have a year left on my contract and at my age, it really does go year to year. We'll see how things progress and at that point,
I'll make a decision on my future.”
He added, “If I couldn't do it anymore at the highest level, then I wouldn't want to play. I wouldn't sign a contract. It's getting harder and harder to consider [MLS] because of my age. I've been really fortunate to have these
opportunities in the Premier League with big clubs.”
Tottenham will hope that the veteran goalkeeper opts to continue past the 2012-2013 Premier League season as he will be hard to replace. Friedel not only is adept at dealing with one-on-one situations but he is also good at organizing
the defence ahead of hi which is a mark of a good goalkeeper.
