Brad Haddin backs Michael Clarke, Marvin Atapattu appointed batting coach – Cricket News
Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin has backed the newly appointed captain Michael Clarke to shine in his new role.
Clarke led his side to a One Day International series white-wash in his first tour as captain, though the Bangladeshi side were not as stiff or formidable opponents it was a tricky test for the skipper.
Taking over after Ricky Ponting decided that it was time for a change in leadership in the Australian camp and duly stepped down from the post of captain after leading his side to the last eight stage of the ICC World Cup 2011.
Newly appointed skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 knows he will have big shoes to fill, as he replaces a captain who was part of three World Cup winning sides. Yet rather than feeling concerned of Ponting’s presence on the pitch, Haddin believes the knowledge and experience
of the former captain will be beneficial for Clarke.
Haddin said, "He (Clarke) has been lucky to have the class of Ponting in his apprenticeship. I think he will take some things from what Ricky did well and move into his captaincy.”
Clarke has already demonstrated that he can shoulder the responsibility of leading from the front with some solid displays with the bat, including a century in the first match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 which set up Australia’s first win under his tenure.

“Ricky has been a tremendous leader for a long, long time. Mike is going to develop into a very good captain," said Haddin.

The three batsmen were responsible for their sides victories leading up to the final, and Atapattu will look to improve the performance of the other batsmen as well as find ways to maintain the top order’s devastating form.
